Nigel McGuinness Saves Tony Schiavone From Shock Attack On AEW Collision
Tony Schiavone narrowly avoided disaster on AEW Collision.
At Dynasty, FTR brutally turned on Cope leaving him on a stretcher, and out of action indefinitely.
After their match with the Death Riders, Dax Harwood delivered a sickening Piledriver to the WWE Hall of Famer.
He quickly grabbed two chairs and looked set to deliver a Con-Chair-To, but Cash Wheeler shoved him out of the way. At first, he helped Cope to his feet, but then pulled him into a Shatter Machine, before he and Harwood, delivered a Mindbreaker Piledriver onto a chair.
Wheeler then hit the Con-Chair-To as doctors ran to the ring, but he simply hit his one-time friend yet again.
Nigel McGuinness To The Rescue On AEW Collision
On the April 12 edition of Collision, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler gave an explanation for their attack on Cope, even if they said they didn’t owe the fans one.
Wheeler began by denying the attack was premeditated and he said he always felt Cope didn’t respect him. Harwood then picked up the baton and said they hadn’t sold out, adding that he didn’t have to justify their actions because he knew they were right.
Dax said FTR’s only direction for months had been becoming the new ‘Edge Heads,’ and like every wrestler in Cope’s position, he was selfish. He then turned his attention to Tony Schiavone, inviting him into the ring to repeat his damning comments from Dynasty.
As the tension increased, FTR went to give Schiavone a Spike Piledriver before Nigel McGuinness got in the ring to save his broadcast partner. In response, Harwood threw down threats on McGuinness and only stopped when Daniel Garcia rushed the ring to calm everything down.
FTR left after extending a hand to Garcia and McGuinness warned Schiavone to never put him in that position again.
Elsewhere on the show, Athena, Jamie Hayter, and Konosuke Takeshita advanced in the Owen Hart Cup.
