Nick Khan Forced To Intervene In Bringing R-Truth Back To WWE

WWE had to go to great lengths to bring R-Truth back into the fold, with company president Nick Khan forced to get involved.

R-Truth announced his time in WWE was coming to an end just days after he was part of a marquee match at Saturday Night’s Main Event against WWE Champion John Cena. Truth’s revelation led to an outpouring of support from fans and within the entire wrestling industry.

And it seems WWE listened.

At Money In The Bank, R-Truth made his shock return as he laid out John Cena and received by far the loudest ovation of the night. However, it initially seemed that Truth had no interest in going back until Nick Khan got involved in negotiations.

Nick Khan Needed To Get R-Truth Back In WWE

Fightful Select has now offered more insight into how WWE managed to bring R-Truth back into the fold and the extent to which the company was forced to go.

The report reiterates that Triple H’s claim about Truth’s exit being part of the show was untrue, and the situation was categorically not a work. Interestingly, it was noted that when WWE first made contact with Truth about a return, he didn’t entertain the calls. It was then that WWE President Nick Khan stepped in and took over, with things then said to have opened up. Khan getting involved in negotiations was said to be rare, but this one was seen to be very important to the company and the locker room.

A WWE higher-up noted that Truth’s return was a good sign that both the fans and the locker room were being listened to by management.

Companies such as GCW and TNA were already looking to book Truth following his exit from WWE, but those plans will now be on hold. It is uncertain how long Truth’s new deal with WWE lasts.
