Nick Khan Confirms Star Will Return To WWE
A familiar face will be returning to WWE.
Back in June, McAfee disappeared from Monday Night Raw without explanation, and he was initially replaced by SmackDown commentator Wade Barrett.
As his absence continued, on an episode of his podcast, Pat McAfee cited exhaustion as the reason behind his absence. As a result, there have been suggestions that the star may never return to WWE on a full-time basis.
McAfee returned to the commentary desk for one night only at Wrestlepalooza in September, and it seems his WWE career isn’t over.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, WWE President Nick Khan confirmed that McAfee will be back on screens when the college football season winds down.
“We’re going to bring you back. I know you and I are going to sit together once college football slows.”
Is Another Major Name Returning To WWE?
Meanwhile, it’s been widely reported that Chris Jericho will make his own return to WWE in 2026.
Jericho hasn’t appeared on AEW television since April, and his contract with the company is due to expire before the end of the year. In the eyes of many, this leaves the way clear for a return to the sports entertainment giant in 2026, likely at the Royal Rumble.
In a rare update on his status, Chris Jericho confirmed that he’ll resume his wrestling career in 2026, although he stopped short of revealing where.
