Nic Nemeth Recalls Long Anticipated Debut Of WWE Hall Of Famer

In a recent interview with ComicBook Nation, former WWE Superstar Nic Nemeth, better known as Dolph Ziggler, recounted the memorable moment when Sting made his long-awaited WWE debut at the 2014 Survivor Series pay-per-view.

Nemeth, who was involved in the main event match that night, where he teamed up with John Cena, Big Show, Ryback, and Erick Rowan to take on The Authority (Seth Rollins, Kane, Luke Harper, Mark Henry and Rusev), shared his unique perspective on the iconic moment. Reflecting on the build-up to Sting’s appearance, Ziggler revealed the sense of excitement and anticipation he and his opponent, Seth Rollins, shared.

We had to lay down next to each other for like 10 minutes and not move, you know. So I’m just like, hey, man, I think this thing’s coming. It was like we’re fans first. You know what I mean? So like having that happen, well, we’re just going to chill out there and be like, ‘oh, sick.’

Nemeth emphasised the emotional and dramatic impact of the match, praising the storytelling that led to Sting’s pivotal interference.

Even like Big Show, we cover it. Like Big Show can punch us all in the face and win the whole damn thing himself. But the story is he’s bought out and he leaves and he turns his back [on us]. There were so many good pieces of that, that if you just had like, here’s the good guys and here’s the bad guys and you do the match and it comes down to three on one and four on one, you’re like, okay, it’s a cool underdog story. But when you piece all those things together, The Authority really is this strong. No one can take them out. Then you’d find a way to do it. It makes lasting impressions out of everyone.

Nic Nemeth acknowledged the enduring significance of the match.

I don’t think everyone would be talking about it to this day. If it was just like, oh, it was, Five on five and it was down to four to one, three and one and Dolph won. Then the next day he did something dumb and then that was it. Anyway, Roman comes back next week and you’re like, OK, great. So it’s so special because of the emotion.

Nic Nemeth’s reflections on Sting’s iconic WWE debut at Survivor Series 2014 highlight the profound impact of the moment and the lasting impression it left on both the performers and the fans.
