Nia Jax Speaks On Wrestling Future
Almost a year since she was last seen in the ring, Nia Jax has discussed the likelihood of lacing up her boots again.
After seven years with the promotion, Nia Jax was one of the more surprising stars to be released by WWE last November. Jax signed with the company back in 2014 with no prior experience of professional wrestling and made her debut in May 2015.
Over the following years, Nia Jax became a staple of the women’s division and had rivalries with every major female WWE Superstar during her time in the company. Since becoming a free agent, there has been little news on what the future holds for ‘The Irresistible Force’.
The real-life Lina Fanene made an appearance on a recent edition of the Wives of Wrestling Podcast to discuss whether she plans to step in the ring again.
“You know, I always thought I would never wrestle again. I don’t think I’d go back to full-time wrestling because it was, it’s crazy, now they have it different, but it just took a lot. It took a toll on me.
“I wouldn’t mind going back and doing like a fun little story and, you know, putting somebody over, something like that. But I think, you know, I gave it a good amount of time and now I’m like, prefer to just God willing, get married and have kids, you know.”
During her career, Nia Jax captured the Raw Women’s Championship and Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Shayna Baszler. After being released, Jax was announced for the first Wrestling Entertainment Series card where she was due to take on CJ Perry – better known to WWE fans as Lana – for their Women’s Championship. This was, however, postponed and ultimately cancelled.
