One star heading into the WWE Hall of Fame has expressed their happiness at the honour but wishes their tag team partner could share it with them.

After weeks of speculation, it’s officially been announced that The Natural Disasters will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Fred Ottman (Typhoon) and John Tenta (Earthquake) both enjoyed lengthy careers in the ring, but it was their run as the Natural Disasters in the early 1990s that many fans remember them for.

Ottman and Tenta began teaming together in 1991 and went on to win the WWE Tag Team Title during their relatively short run as a duo. They won that gold from Money Inc. in July 1992 before losing the title back to Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster three months later.

After the team split, Ottman headed to WCW and infamously debuted as The Shockmaster in August 1993. He made a brief return to WWE in 1994 but spent the remainder of his in-ring career on the independent scene.

John Tenta also found his way to WCW via a spell in Japan, signing with the company in late 1993, where he was known as The Avalanche and later The Shark. Tenta re-debuted in WWE in May 1998 as part of The Oddities under the name Golga, but he left the company again in the early months of 1999. Ultimately, Tenta sadly passed away on June 7, 2006, after being diagnosed with bladder cancer.

WWE Hall Of Famer Wishes His Partner Was Still Around

Fred Ottman took to social media to share his thoughts on the honour and expressed how much he wished his tag team partner was going to be there with him:

I want to thank all the well wishers that have got on board, we are officially by the WWE being brought into the Hall of Fame. I want to thank everybody, I wish my partner was here. He’s my brother from another mother that’s what I tell everybody when we talk about him. His family, I wish them nothing but greatness and I look forward to seeing them at WrestleMania and my son who works for WWE.

I’ll be there with my wife, she’s excited and she’s happy and I’m very, very happy it’s great being brought into this prestigious Hall of Fame induction. God bless you all and thanks again for all the well wishes out there. I hope to see you there at WrestleMania.

Fred Ottman’s son Berkley Ottman is the current WWE timekeeper. Ottman’s nephew might be more familiar to fans as that happens to be the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
