New WWE Title Match Added To Night Of Champions
WWE have added another blockbuster title match to Night of Champions as the fine line between love and hate is crossed.
Jacob Fatu captured the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 41 when he defeated LA Knight for the gold. Following that win, things started to change between Fatu and Solo Sikoa, with Sikoa apparently increasingly jealous of his henchman’s success.
Things took another turn when Solo Sikoa brought JC Mateo into WWE to join his Bloodline. Jacob Fatu finally turned on Sikoa at Money In The Bank as he cost him the briefcase in the iconic ladder match. Despite that, Sikoa decided to give Fatu a chance at reconciliation, but that didn’t work out as he planned.
Jacob Fatu Puts WWE Gold On The Line
On the June 20th edition of SmackDown, Jacob Fatu rejected a return to Sikoa’s side and instead offered his former Tribal Chief a shot at the WWE United States Championship. A sneak attack was thwarted by Fatu, and Jimmy Uso helped Fatu out when JC Mateo joined the assault.
Later in the night, it was confirmed that Jacob Fatu will put his WWE United States Title on the line at Night of Champions against Solo Sikoa.
The confirmed card for WWE Night of Champions so far is:
- John Cena (c) vs. CM Punk – WWE Championship
- Jacob Fatu (c) vs. Solo Sikoa – US Championship
- Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. AJ Styles – Intercontinental Championship
- Randy Orton vs. Jey Uso/Cody Rhodes – King of the Ring final
- Asuka vs. Jade Cargill/Roxanne Perez – Queen of the Ring final
