New WWE Signings Win Despite Major Change To SmackDown Debut

Nick Aldis WWE

There are two new signings in WWE already making waves in the company as they picked up a massive win in their first SmackDown bout.

Recently on SmackDown a vignette aired showing two shadowy figures mixed in with footage of Detroit and fast cars synonymous with the Motor City, heralding the arrival of The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin.

A week later another vignette aired bearing the letters “MCMG” this time confirming that Shelley and Sabin were on their way to the blue brand. Nick Aldis had made a tag team bout featuring Los Garza for SmackDown in Columbia, South Carolina but did not tell Berto and Angel who their opponents would be leading many to believe this would be the debut of the Machine Guns. However, that didn’t turn out exactly the way it had been planned.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin signed their WWE contracts with Nick Aldis before SmackDown began and Aldis had some tweaks to make to his show. Rather than a normal tag team match, Aldis inserted A-Town Down Under into the match making it a triple threat tag team match with big stakes.

MCMG Win WWE Debut

The show also saw another triple threat tag team match take place with DIY coming out on top. They would then face the winners of MCMG vs. Los Garza vs. A Town Down Under one week later with the winner earning a shot at The Bloodline’s WWE Tag Team Championship.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin picked up the win in their WWE debut meaning they are now only one bout away from challenging for title gold.
