A new WWE Superstar will miss an indie booking.

On February 11, the wrestling world was left stunned when Ricky Starks strolled onto WWE television during NXT. While the star had been expected to eventually join the company, his AEW departure had only been confirmed 24 hours earlier.

In a short promo, Starks said NXT is the future of professional wrestling, and he’s a superstar of the future.

During the broadcast there was no mention of the name “Ricky Starks” from commentary or the man himself, leading some to believe he’ll soon be given a new name.

Ricky Starks To Make Another Surprise WWE Appearance?

Interestingly, Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling has announced that Starks will no longer be appearing on their Saturday, February 15 event. The post raised eyebrows as not only does WWE usually allow new signings to complete any existing bookings, but the event is on the same day as NXT Vengeance Day.

🚨Important announcement🚨

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Ricky Starks will not be in attendance on Saturday, February 15th at the Tannery Row Ale House. However, you can still expect the same incredible evening of Georgia’s premier star studded, action packed, family friendly, independent professional wrestling that TCW Live has to offer!
We will see you at the matches!

It’s been reported that Ricky Starks will be staying with NXT for the time being because it provides an easier way to integrate the star onto television. With much of the main roster already involved in storylines that will last until WrestleMania, NXT provides a much more fluid environment.

Starks’ fellow former AEW stars Miro and Malakai Black are also expected to land in WWE in the coming weeks.
