New WWE Plans For WrestleMania 42 Leaked
WWE looks sett o set to make an unprecedented decision on WrestleMania.
On May 22, a shocking new report claimed that WrestleMania 42 will no longer be held in New Orleans, Louisiana. The news stunned fans around the world, especially as The Rock announced that the event would be held at Ceasars Superdome on the February 21 edition of SmackDown.
Despite apparently losing WrestleMania 42, The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation confirmed that the city has been promised WrestleMania at some point in the future. New Orleans will also host Money In The Bank 2026.
No date for the show has been confirmed, but it’s usually held in June or July.
WWE Has Surprising Plan For WrestleMania
As speculation hits fever-pitch, it’s been reported by NOLA.com that WrestleMania 42 will be moved to Las Vegas, the home of WrestleMania 41. Since the event’s creation in 1985, it has only been held in the same city in consecutive years once before, in Atlantic City in 1988 and 1989.
The report cites an “industry official” who stated that top WWE management decided it would rather hold the event in Las Vegas instead of New Orleans.
“After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn’t authorized to be quoted by name.”
In addition, Dave Meltzer claimed there will also be a date change for the event, but this has yet to be publicly revealed.
Several members of the media have reached out to WWE regarding the report, but the company has yet to comment.
There had earlier been suggestions that WrestleMania 42 could be taken to an international location. Should this be the case, it would mark the first time the event has ever been held outside of North America.
It’s the worst-kept secret in wrestling that both Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom have been pushing to host WrestleMania in the coming years.
