New WWE NXT Tag Champs Crowned – Challenge Issued
On last night’s NXT broadcast, Dawson and Dash, otherwise known as The Mechanics, captured the NXT Tag Team Championship from The Vaudevillians. As seen below, it has caused quite a buzz on social media, with HHH leading the charge with this post on his Instagram account.
The Mechanics good friend Adam Copeland (Edge) tweeted this.

And one half of the the NXT Champions, Scott Dawson, tweeted this challenge to presumably any team in the WWE, let alone NXT.

Not long after the above tweet was posted, Aiden English, one half of the now former NXT Tag Team Champions tweeted this in response to what happened in the match.
A cheap shot to steal gold is one thing…try to put me out like you did Cass? That's something else entirely. We are not finished here…

Ski’s Take – Well The Vaudevillians really didn’t go very far after capturing the gold from Blake & Murphy at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. A quick defence in the rematch and that was about it. Feel bad for them but in all honesty, they make better babyfaces chasing the titles than actually holding it, so this rivalry looks like it has some legs to it.
And congratulations to The Mechanics! They really are a throwback tag team and in this day and age, that’s a great thing. While everybody else around them are bumping like crazy, doing high risk moves, it’s nice to see a team go old school like they have. Being compared to The Brainbusters is a huge compliment as Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard were supreme wrestlers at the time, and in all honesty, I can see Dash and Dawson doing just as well.
As Scott Dawson posted in his tweet, there is a definate tag team revolution happening not just in NXT but on the main roster too, and I for one am loving it!
