New Opps Member Helps Samoa Joe Wins Top Prize At AEW Full Gear
AEW’s latest PPV is now officially in the history books, following the conclusion of tonight’s main event. The show had many exciting matches on offer, and the biggest of them was saved for the last.
The main event of the show saw ‘Hangman’ Adam Page take on Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship in a steel cage match. Joe and Page used to be friends till as recently as last month, before Joe turned on the champion.
The two faced each other at WrestleDream last month, where Page walked away with the win, leading to a match being announced for Full Gear tonight. They pushed each other to the limit in a bloody and brutal match.
Hook turns heel and helps Samoa Joe win the AEW World Title
Hangman Page and Samoa Joe were evenly matched for much of their bout, and it seemed like anyone’s match. They were both left with a crimson mask on their face after such brutal back and forth between the two.
The AEW World Champion hit Samoa Joe with the Deadeye and Buckshot lariat on two separate occasions and got the visual pin, but the referee was knocked out cold. Trying to take advantage of the same, Katsuyori Shibata tried to enter the cage but was stopped by Eddie Kingston.

The cage door was pried open by Powerhouse Hobbs, who tried to help Joe win but was taken out by Page. Hook came out to seemingly help Page, as he has done in the past. However, he ended up hitting Page with his World Title on his face, revealing himself to be the newest member of The Opps, thus ending Adam Page’s title run.
