New Episode of “WWE Untold” Featuring Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon from King of the Ring 2001 on WWE Network Tonight

The WWE Untold series on WWE Network has had five episodes so far. They have covered The Undertaker vs. Mankind inside Hell in a Cell at King of the Ring 1998, Eddie Guerrero as the WWE Champion on Smackdown in 2004, the return of ECW in 2006 that did not go according to plan, Sting’s WWE debut in 2014 and the failed relaunch of WCW from early 2001.

Tonight on WWE Untold on WWE Network, they are covering a single match and it’s from King of the Ring 2001 when Kurt Angle wrested Shane McMahon in a Street Fight that lasted 25 minutes. It was one of the most brutal matches in WWE history.

This was Angle’s third match of the night and it was the longest of three.

I will definitely be watching it tonight and I’ll probably post a review too. In that review, I’ll also include a detailed play by play of the match along with my analysis.

The key spots in the match were when Angle tried to suplex Shane through the glass by the entrance, but the glass did not break. Angle has explained in numerous interviews when he was out of WWE (I’ll post one below) that there was supposed to be breakable sugar glass there. Instead, it was regular glass and that meant it was a lot tougher to break. Will WWE mention the lack of a sugar glass in their WWE Network video? I’m not sure because if they will do that because if they do then that’s giving away some of the “magic” of pro wrestling and WWE doesn’t like doing that, so we’ll see how they address it.
