Netflix To Produce New Wrestling Series, Ex-WWE Staff Involved

WWE Raw crowd, Triple H in the ring

A former WWE writer is working on a new wrestling project with Netflix.

As reported by Deadline, a new wrestling series titled Tuesday Night Titans is now in development.

The project is the brainchild of former Monday Night Raw writer Michael Notarile, who’s credited as the creator and writer. Notarile will also serve as an executive producer alongside Jon M. Chu and Caitlin Foito.

You can find the synopsis below.

Set in the spectacle-driven world of professional wrestling, Tuesday Night Titans follows a tenacious writer who risks her career in the big leagues to recruit her estranged childhood best friend – a ‘jobber’ wrestler on the indies – to join the same behemoth company they idolized in their youth. Their destinies become entangled as they battle personal demons, ruthless colleagues, and their complicated history in an industry where “kayfabe” – wrestling’s staged reality – isn’t confined to the ring, but bleeds into every aspect of their lives.

The series will have no connection to the former WWE talk show of the same name that aired between 1984 and 1986.

WWE Star Pushing Netflix For More Episodes Of Popular Show

Back in April, CM Punk revealed that he’s trying to “petition Netflix” to do a third season of Heels. The show, which aired between 2021 and 2023, starred Stephen Amell while also featuring Punk and his wife, AJ Lee.

In the same interview, Punk said that he’s in a slightly unusual race with former WWE star-turned-Hollywood megastar Dave Bautista. The Monday Night Raw star said that not only is he dying to work with Bautista, he’d love to film a rom-com with him.
