“Negotiations Ongoing” Regarding Huge WWE SmackDown Changes
Big changes could be coming to WWE SmackDown.
Just days after SmackDown premiered on the USA Network after leaving Fox, it was reported that the show could move to three hours.
According to the report, SmackDown would become three hours from January 3rd, three days before Raw premieres on Netflix. The red brand currently airs on USA and runs for three hours. There have also been suggestions that SmackDown could be available on Netflix 24 hours after it airs live, but there remains no official confirmation.

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed there is talk of SmackDown being extended and “negotiations are ongoing.”
As things stand right now, the Wrestlevotes story about Smackdown going three hours in January is accurate. Those in WWE note nothing is finalized but they are likely waiting to make that announcement. As far as how this works financially, we are just told that negotiations are ongoing with USA.
With a little over a week to go until Bad Blood, the blue brand rolls into the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City on September 27th. On the show, Bayley will clash with Naomi with the winner going on to challenge Women’s Champion Nia Jax at the event.
