NBA All-Star Teases Future WWE Match
An NBA All-Star is open to the idea of having a WWE match in the future.
During the June 28th edition of WWE Smackdown from Madison Square Garden in New York, two NBA All-Stars got involved in the show.
It was a night when LA Knight and Logan Paul were in a triple threat match with Santos Escobar in an attempt to qualify for Money in the Bank. Paul was joined by NBA All-Star Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, who was booed heavily. Haliburton was booed a lot because the Pacers beat the Knicks in a spectacular 7-game series in the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Since Smackdown was in the same building where the Knicks play, Haliburton even received “f**k the Pacers” chants during the match due to how aggressive New York sports fans can be. Paul tried to get Haliburton to give him brass knuckles to use, but Brunson jumped the barricade and got in Haliburton’s face to prevent interference. Knight ended up getting the win shortly after that.
After the match, Halliburton had the brass knuckles on his right hand while supporting Paul. Brunson went into the ring with a steel chair and supported Knight. Words were exchanged by the NBA stars, but there was no physicality. Brunson posed with Knight, much to the delight of the fans.
NBA All-Star Jalen Brunson Responds To Possibly Having A WWE Match
The “Fanatics Fest” is going on in New York City, which has been promoted heavily by WWE over the last month due to many top superstars appearing at the signing extravaganza.
Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks was also there and he was asked by The Ringer Wrestling Show about possibly stepping into a WWE ring for a match. Brunson, who is a lifelong WWE fan, gave an answer that suggests it’s a possibility.
“I’m never going to say never. I’m never going to say never. Maybe we can speak it into existence. Maybe we can.”
At 27 years old (28 later this month), Jalen Brunson is in the prime of his NBA career and making a ridiculous amount of money, so the New York Knicks may not want him taking bumps in a WWE ring any time soon. However, it could be something Brunson does in the future.
As for Tyrese Haliburton, he is also a lifelong WWE fan who has gone to many wrestling shows in his life. Haliburton just won a Gold Medal as part of the US Basketball team although he didn’t play any minutes in the Gold Medal game.
