Why Natalya Is Taking Inspiration From Randy Orton & Rey Mysterio

Natalya will be striking around.

In 2025, wrestlers can keep performing in the ring longer than ever before. Thanks to advances in science and training practices, as well as a shift away from the wild lifestyles that crippled many generations before them, today’s stars can stay at the peak of their powers into their 40s and beyond.

One shining example of this shift is Natalya. The Canadian star is one of WWE’s longest tenured wrestlers, male or female, after starting out with the company in 2007 and beginning her in-ring career four years earlier.

Although the proud Canadian is now well into the veteran stage of her career, she continues to perform at a high level, with no notable decline.

Natalya Has No Plans To Retire

During an appearance on The Nikki & Brie Show, Natalya stated that she’s got no intention of hanging up her boots, especially when she feels like she’s in the best shape of her life. The veteran quipped that she’ll walk away when Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio also call it a day.

“I just feel so good. People say to me, ‘When are you going to hang it up?’ I’m going to hang it up when Randy Orton hangs it up, when Rey Mysterio hangs it up. When I look at Randy, he’s in the best shape of his life. Rey is in the best shape of his life.

What I love now in WWE is we’re not letting a number define what people can do. That’s the great thing about this era. If you’re good at what you do, you go in there and rock it. I actually feel like I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been in my life. Knock on wood, I wake up every morning pain-free.

It’s been announced that Natalya will compete at NWA’s Crockett Cup event on May 1, where she’ll challenge Kenzie Paige for the NWA Women’s World Championship. As with her appearance at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport during WrestleMania week, she’ll compete under the name Nattie Neidhart.

During the same interview, Nikki Bella confirmed that she’s been training with Natalya as she prepares for her comeback.
