Natalya has tipped a new signing to take WWE by storm.

On the June 3 episode of NXT, Mariah May made her stunning WWE debut to the surprise of everyone watching at the Performance Center and at home.

After starting her career in 2018, May headed to Japan, where she made her name in Stardom before officially signing with AEW in 2023. Her subsequent friendship-turned-rivalry with Toni Storm saw her become the AEW Women’s World Champion and one of the most highly-acclaimed performers in the industry.

With her storyline with Storm over, May disappeared from AEW television in March and eventually allowed her contract to expire.

According to several reports following her debut, May is expected to be renamed by WWE in the coming weeks.

Natalya Excited To See Mariah May In Action

On Busted Open Radio, WWE veteran Natalya was full of praise for the new signing and praised her for heading to Japan to hone her craft at a young age. She added that May had fought her way to WWE and was excited about the stories she could tell in NXT.

“I’m excited for her and I think this is going to be a fun chapter for her. We were talking about Stephanie (Vaquer) last week, Mariah has a similar journey where she went out and explored the world before coming to WWE. She was a fan, she loved it. In real life she was a fan, then wanted to pursue this.

Then she moved to Japan and she, like, basically became a student of the game. While she’s very beautiful, and some people might go ‘Oh so she’s a model that wanted to do this,’ she is beautiful but I can tell that she really fought for this and that she really worked hard for this.

I like the way she tells stories, even the way she handles herself on social media, and the way she has told stories in the past, she’s a good little storyteller. I’m excited to see the stories that she’s going to tell with the women at NXT. “

Natalya went on to describe May as the “total package,” noting how hard she’s worked to prove she’s more than “just a pretty face.”

“Mariah has, what I think is the total package. She can speak, she looks amazing, she looks the part, and she can go in the ring. She has put the time in, put the work in.

If you get busted open in the ring, she has shown she can work through it. I remember Trish Stratus, one of the things that got Trish so over with the audience is when she broke her nose in a match and then she just kept wrestling…

I think Mariah May has that grit about her where she’s like f**k it, I’m beautiful, but I’m going to work through it. I’m going to show you that I’m not just another pretty face.”

Natalya added that she “wouldn’t be against” stopping by NXT to face May in the future.

Following her WWE debut, it’s been revealed that Mariah May has become the latest star to sign with the Paradigm Talent Agency. May joins fellow WWE stars such as Damian Priest, Tiffany Stratton, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Liv Morgan under the Paradigm umbrella.
