Naomi Details Medical Struggles As She Opens Up About Pregnancy

Naomi

Naomi has opened up about her medical struggles after announcing her pregnancy on WWE Raw.

Rumours about Naomi’s status in WWE began to run rampant after she was pulled from a planned Women’s World Title defence on the August 11th edition of Raw.

These grew even stronger when both Naomi and her husband Jimmy Uso appeared on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast, but no announcement was made there. And for good reason, it seems.

On Raw in Philadelphia, Naomi announced she was pregnant before she relinquished her Women’s World Championship. With the announcement out of the way, a special bonus edition of What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon aired, with Naomi and Uso discussing the pregnancy.

Naomi revealed she found out she was pregnant shortly before she was due to face IYO SKY on Raw and admits she didn’t think pregnancy was going to be possible for her:

In my hotel room. Had been feeling a little different, a little weird. Just wanted to take a test to find out and make sure, kinda rule it out, not thinking because it’s been a long journey with fertility issues that I’ve had. So yeah, I really just didn’t think it was possible.

Naomi also noted that she was seven weeks early and had already felt her child’s heartbeat.

Naomi’s Pregnancy “High-Risk”

The former Women’s World Champion continued, detailing that she had her right ovary removed before debuting on the WWE main roster. In 2020, she underwent another procedure to have fibroids removed from her uterus.

Naomi explained some of the results of those procedures left her doubting that she’d ever be able to become pregnant:

It was more intense and severe than they thought it was initially, and just the healing and also a lot of scar tissue so that also affected…the ability, on top of being older, I’m 37 now, and on top of only having one ovary, we thought for sure that naturally, I couldn’t anymore.

[…] I’m going to have checkups more often, but everything’s looking good. We’re off to a good start.
