Naomi Teases Change For Her WWE Character
Naomi thinks she knows what kind of heel WWE character she would be if the situation presented itself.
It has been an interesting journey for Naomi as a WWE superstar going back to when she first signed in 2009. She was a “Funkadactyl” dancer at one point before evolving and becoming a wrestler who went on to become a two-time Women’s Champion and two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion.
Even though she left WWE for nearly two years, Naomi has been right at home since coming back in early 2024. Throughout her career, Naomi has been a smiling babyface who encouraged fans to “feel the glow” as her way of getting people to smile and brighten up their lives.
In an interview with the Huge Pop podcast, Naomi talked about what a heel run would look like for her and what kind of heel she would be.
“I do love what Naomi has done and become at this point. However, I don’t ever want to become stagnant or complacent or coasting. I do feel like there is a time for the Glow or the character of Naomi to change or evolve. I’m always up for that challenge and I’m always thinking and pushing myself. Also, I don’t want to force anything, and I feel like that timing has to be right and thought out.
For me to change after being so connected and established, and with something that still works, I would want it to be worth it and I would want to go all in with it. If that does mean me going to the darker side, I don’t want to throw that away because it would be a big deal. Not just for me, but for fans.
I still think I’m a very safe woman on the roster where you can have a place everywhere. I’m an established and strong baby(face).
If I was to get away from that, we have to go all the way. I gotta be nasty. I gotta be dirty. I have to be something ya’ll haven’t seen before. Everything has to change. I’m up for it. I would love that.”
A current storyline involving Naomi has seen her become a Women’s Tag Team Champion with Bianca Belair due to Jade Cargill suffering a mystery attack in November 2024. There are some fans who believe that Naomi could be revealed as the mystery attacker because taking Cargill out led to Naomi becoming a champion with Belair. If that were to be revealed then perhaps Naomi could become the “nasty, dirty” heel that she claims she would be.
