Naomi To Defend Women’s World Title In Massive SummerSlam Match

Naomi shocked the world with her Women’s World Title win at Evolution, but now the challengers are coming thick and fast.

Naomi’s rise to the top of WWE has been a long time coming for many fans. At Elimination Chamber, she was attacked by a returning Jade Cargill as Naomi was revealed as Cargill’s mystery attacker as she turned her back on both Cargill and Bianca Belair.

Despite losing to Cargill at both WrestleMania 41 and Evolution, she found success in the Money In The Bank match, winning the briefcase to earn a world title shot, any time, any place.

After her loss to Jade Cargill at Evolution, Naomi picked her spot in the night’s main event as she interrupted the Women’s World Championship match between Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. Naomi cashed in her contract to turn that match into a triple threat bout, and she used the no disqualification rules to her advantage to pick up the win and the Women’s World Title.

Naomi Facing SummerSlam Triple Threat

On the July 14th edition of Raw, Naomi revealed she was now part of the Raw roster, but she soon had company from both Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce soon appeared with an idea that went down well with all three women as he made a triple threat match for the gold to take place at SummerSlam.

The first-ever two-night SummerSlam will take place on August 2nd and 3rd in MetLife Stadium. Cody Rhodes will challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship at that event, while Tiffany Stratton will defend her WWE Women’s Title against Jade Cargill.
