Naomi Warns of “Crash Out of the Century” Over AJ Lee’s WWE Return

AJ Lee’s potential WWE return in 2025 has stirred significant buzz throughout the wrestling world.

CM Punk, along with Jey Uso and LA Knight, challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Paris last Sunday. Punk could smell his victory in the air, but Rollin’s wife, Becky Lynch, interfered and low-blowed The Second City Saint to tip the scales in her husband’s favor.

If that was not enough, she humiliated Punk at Raw earlier this week. Since Punk can’t lay a finger on Lynch for obvious reasons, the fans believe Lee will return to defend her husband’s honor. Recently, hints and backstage reports suggest the Stamford-based promotion is preparing for her comeback sooner than expected, possibly at the upcoming Wrestlepalooza event on September 20, 2025.

The Geek Goddess retired in 2015 but has remained a fan favorite, and her return would shake up the WWE women’s division. CM Punk’s post-match interaction with an “AJ Lee” sign at Clash in Paris, combined with Big E’s teasing of her return, added excitement to the rumors. Social media posts, including a now-deleted WWE Shop tweet about new Lee merchandise, have further fueled speculation.

Naomi Comments on AJ Lee’s Potential WWE Return

A few months ago, Naomi jokingly said she wouldn’t retire from WWE until Lee made a return and claimed to have been “harassing” CM Punk to make it happen. Now, with Lee’s comeback becoming more likely, the former Women’s World Champion has reacted to the news on social media.

Naomi tweeted a warning to fans that if Lee returns while she is away due to her pregnancy, she will cause a major uproar on social media. This tweet is a clear sign that even the pregnant WWE star is pretty excited to see Lee return to the Stamford-based promotion, along with millions of fans across the globe.

Lee and Naomi share a rich history in WWE, having faced off numerous times across televised shows, pay-per-views, and house events in WWE and FCW. For those who don’t know, both Naomi and The Black Widow were contestants on the all-female third season of NXT in 2010. Additionally, Lee’s final match in the Stamford-based promotion in March 2015 pitted her team, featuring Naomi and Paige, against Natalya and The Bella Twins.
