Naomi Admits Fear Over WWE Return

Naomi has revealed her relief at a positive crowd reaction after returning to WWE during the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match.

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion made a shock return at Tropicana Field on 27th January, marking her first in ring appearance for WWE since departing alongside partner Sasha Banks citing creative differences in May 2022.

The Orlando native entered the gruelling contest as the number 2 entrant to the delight of the crowd and survived for over 62 minutes, going on to make the final five before being eliminated by a debuting Jade Cargill.

The former TNA Knockouts Champion reflected on her return in a WWE Royal Rumble Exclusive, revealing her fear ahead of the entering the match:

“Ah man, it was hard to hold back all the emotions. I couldn’t — oh man, it felt really good. After this little journey I’ve been on, finally being back, and that’s the scary part.

You never know what that reaction or response is. So to feel that, man. It’s so much more rewarding. I’m so grateful to be back.”

Naomi Praises Debutant Jade Cargill

Despite dumping the returning Superstar out of the Royal Rumble, Jade Cargill was singled out for praise by Naomi following the match.

Cargill was making her in-ring debut having signed for WWE in September 2023 and impressed during her 11 minutes in the ring with Naomi quick to praise the 31 year-old:

“After this ride I’ve been on, I feel like nothing can break me. I didn’t win, but I hung in there but that Jade [Cargill] is something else though.”
