Mystery Faction Sparks Chaos At NXT Vengeance Day

NXT boss Shawn Michaels

NXT is under threat.

On February 15, NXT headed to the CareFirst Arena in Washington D.C. for Vengeance Day. On a night when a new champion was crowned, it was four masked strangers who arguably made the biggest impact.

After Nathan Frazer and Axiom successfully defended their Tag Team Titles against Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura, they were attacked by four mystery men clad in black. The quartet was later revealed to be Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, Cutler James, and Osiris Griffin.

Later in the night, the group attacked again, this time taking out NXT Champion Oba Femi after his Triple Threat Match against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.

NXT Gold Changes Hands

Elsewhere during the show, Stephanie Vaquer defeated Fallon Henley to claim the Women’s North American Title. The victory marked her first taste of championship gold since signing with WWE back in July.

In the main event, Giulia retained the NXT Women’s Title after seeing off Bayley, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade. With the action over, Giulia was joined in the ring by Vaquer but just as they began to pose for the crowd, new signing Jordynne Grace arrived on the scene.

The show went off the air with Grace staring down both Giulia and Vaquer, leaving little doubt about the dawning of a new era.

It’s been widely speculated that the match will be Roxanne Perez’s last in NXT before she moves to the main roster on a permanent basis.

There were also wins for Eddy Thorpe over Trick Williams in a Strap Match, while Ethan Page got the better of Je’von Evans.
