MVP Wants To Work With Ex-WWE Star In AEW
MVP wants to go back to the future.
As The Hurt Business, MVP, Bobby Lashley, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin took WWE by storm, winning world and tag team gold. However, the group was eventually broken up, and MVP, Lashley, and Benjamin have found their way to AEW, where they’re known as The Hurt Syndicate.
Meanwhile, Alexander now finds himself as a free agent, with fans calling for him to join back up with his former teammates.
After being released by WWE, Cedric Alexander even admitted that he regretted signing his final WWE contract after seeing The Hurt Syndicate in AEW.
In a new interview with Bet Ideas, MVP was asked about reuniting with Alexander, and he wasted little time in saying that he would. However, he doesn’t know if a deal will come together.
“The only thing I can say about Cedric is that I absolutely love Cedric. He’s a little brother,” MVP said. “He was a part of the founding group. I know that his contract is up, but I don’t know what his status is.
And unfortunately, I can’t speak for him or his career choices. I don’t do the hiring. So I can’t say anything about that other than he’s an awesome human being. A tremendously talented young man. I’d love to have him back. But anybody that has him would be lucky to have him.”
MVP Takes Shot At Triple H
During the same interview, MVP said he has “zero respect” for Triple H, but explained that his disdain has nothing to do with race.
In an earlier media appearance, MVP said WWE’s management, led by Triple H, “wasn’t for him” after highlighting concerns about how he books Black talent. These criticisms have been a regular feature of Triple H’s tenure in charge, and he claimed in October that he “doesn’t see colour” when confronted with these claims.
