MVP Teases Adding New Member To The Hurt Syndicate
The Hurt Syndicate officially formed in AEW in October 2024, with Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP as founding members, after their run as The Hurt Business in WWE. MJF was briefly a member from May to August 2025 before being ejected from the group.
At AEW All Out 2025, The Hurt Syndicate (Lashley, Benjamin, and MVP) lost a trios match to Ricochet and Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona). MVP, left isolated in the ring after outside brawling, was pinned by Ricochet with the Spirit Gun for the decisive win.
MVP Says The Hurt Syndicate Is Open to Accepting New Members
Days after their loss to the new AEW faction, The Demand, MVP sat down for an interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, where he was asked about adding a new member to his faction. The Franchise Playa said that he is always open to recruiting a new member, especially a younger wrestler, much like Cedric Alexander was previously.
“Of course it’s possible. It’s always possible… We have said for a long time that we’d be interested in adding a fourth member — a younger member. Kind of like how Cedric [Alexander] was before.”
He addressed recent rumors but clarified that no definite plans or discussions have taken place for adding someone, though the idea has been regularly considered, including potentially bringing in a woman. Ultimately, adding a new member depends on timing and having the right person for the group’s direction, and while they have names in mind, nothing is set at the moment.
“I know somebody reported recently that there were talks about adding a new member to the Hurt Syndicate — news to me. It’s always a conversation we’re open to. In the past, we’ve had talks about adding a woman to the group.”
“With professional wrestling, like everything else in life, it comes down to timing. Is it the right person at the right time for what the bigger picture is? There hasn’t been any definitive discussion recently… but there are some people that we like, where we’re like, ‘Yeah man, he or she would be pretty cool.’ Like I said — it all comes down to timing.”
