Motor City Machine Guns Officially Join WWE
The Motor City Machine Gun team of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are officially WWE superstars.
After weeks of teases, the Motor City Machine Guns duo of Chris Sabin & Shelley are now a part of the WWE roster.
On the October 11th episode of Smackdown, General Manager Nick Aldis informed Los Garza (Angel & Humberto) that the would face a new Smackdown on the following week’s Smackdown episode.
Later in that same episode of Smackdown, a video aired with the letters “MCMG” appearing on screen and the words “Next Week” as well, so it was pretty obvious to wrestling fans who it was referring to.
The news of WWE signing the Motor City Machine Guns duo of Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley was first reported in mid-September. Some initial reports stated that the duo would appear in NXT first, but that turned out to be wrong because they are headed to Smackdown.
Considering Shelley & Sabin have been wrestling for two decades after long runs in TNA, the company likely felt that they were definitely ready for the main roster
Who Will The Motor City Machine Guns Face On WWE Smackdown?
In a video posted to WWE’s social media channels, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis was in his office where he welcomed in the Motor City Machine Guns duo of Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley. Those three men know eachother well from their days in TNA Wrestling where all of them held the TNA World Title.
During their discussion, Aldis said that while the Motor City Machine Guns were scheduled to face Los Garza on the October 18th edition of WWE Smackdown, Aldis had a change of heart and set up two triple threat tag team matches instead.
* Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) vs. Los Garza (Angel & Humberto) vs. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller)
* #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs. Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince)
The winners of those two tag team matches will face off next week on Smackdown in Brooklyn. The winner of that match will get a shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles that are currently held by The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa.
Sabin thanked Nick for the opportunity and they will prove him right. Shelley said it was an honor and a privilege. Shelley said that Aldis knows, so they will make sure the rest of the blue brand knows. Aldis was happy about it.
