More Than Meets The Eye To Hulk Hogan’s WWE Absence
Hulk Hogan missed WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and it seems there’s more than meets the eye over his absence.
The commercials that WWE aired promoting WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 25th in San Antonio featured the legendary two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. But when the event took place, Hogan was noticeable by his absence.
At WWE Monday Night Raw’s Netflix premiere in Los Angeles, Hulk Hogan was booed out of the building during a promo where he tried to put over some of his old rivals as well as the fans all to no avail.
Why Did Hulk Hogan Miss Huge WWE Show?
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer suggested that there is more than meets the eye to Hogan missing Saturday Night’s Main Event although he noted that his absence was probably not down to him being booed mercilessly:
I don’t know what the deal is with the Hogan thing. I mean yeah, there’s more to the Hogan thing than meets the eye. I am just not sure exactly yet what it is. I’m not saying that because it’s suspicious, I’m saying that because I was absolutely told that there’s more than meets the eye. That’s the exact wording I was told.
It’s just weird that you pull out of a show that has been built around you, you’re the only one in the advertising, and then you pull out over a wedding. Your son’s getting married, sure, I get that, but it’s like how many weeks have they promoted this with Hogan? Including the night before.
[…] There is something that doesn’t meet the eye on this one, that it does not pass the smell test. It’s like, either Hogan not telling them until the end, that’s weird. Nick deciding to get married at the last minute, if that’s the case, that’s weird. It’s weird. I know people are trying to say now that he was never actually scheduled.
I can tell you from talking to people for weeks he absolutely was scheduled. So it’s not that. Everyone’s going to speculate it’s about being booed in LA and I don’t really think it’s about being booed, but who knows what it is. I don’t know.
Hulk Hogan’s old rival Jesse Ventura was on the call at Saturday Night’s Main Event once again. Hogan and Ventura have had issues over the years with The Body believing The Hulkster caused an end to both his time in WWE and WCW.
