MJF’s Ring On The Line In Huge AEW Grudge Match At Worlds End

MJF AEW

MJF’s luck has a way of running out in AEW and it happened again on Dynamite meaning he’ll now have to face the one opponent he’s been desperately avoiding at Worlds End.

You have to go back 18 months to June 2023 to find the start of the relationship between MJF and Adam Cole in AEW. The two men battled in a 30-minute draw before ending up unlikely tag team partners. But a quick union turned into the feel-good storyline of the year as MJF and Adam Cole battled for the AEW World Championship in the main event of the record-breaking All In.

MJF might have won that match but friendship seemed to be the real winner as the two men celebrated their union in front of over 80,000 fans. And then things quickly fell apart.

Adam Cole shattered his ankle attempting to save MJF in a title match against Samoa Joe. That led to Cole having to miss over a year from the ring. At the end of 2023, Cole turned on MJF revealing himself to be The Devil that had plagued the company leading the Undisputed Kingdom.

Adam Cole Faces MJF At Worlds End

However, with Cole having to miss time due to his injury and MJF’s own hiatuses, the storyline was put on ice and resumed when Adam Cole returned to the company but by now, the fans were hating MJF again and cheering on Cole – a far cry from December 2023.

MJF has weaselled his way out of an eventual match with Cole so far, instead facing Roderick Strong at Full Gear where he picked up the victory. But Cole would not be deterred.

Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly finished as the final two men in the Dynamite Dozen battle royal meaning they faced off at Dynamite Winter Is Coming with a shot at the Dynamite Diamond ring held by MJF on the line for Worlds End. Despite interference from MJF, Cole rolled up his former stablemate to claim the win and ensure he’ll finally get his hands on MJF one year after he broke up their friendship.
