MJF’s AEW Future Finally Revealed Amid Hiatus
The latest update on MJF’s future in AEW could be good news for the select few who call themselves fans of Long Island’s favourite scumbag.
The last time AEW fans saw MJF in action was back at All Out when he lost to Mark Briscoe in the brutal Tables ‘n’ Tacks match. That bout came one day after Mistico also got his comeuppance on the star by defeating MJF to win the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Title in a championship vs. mask match.
His disappearance from AEW came as needed time off to film the movie, Violent Night 2, after also appearing in the likes of Happy Gilmore 2 and The Iron Claw. MJF had been splitting his time between AEW and filming his new role in Winnipeg, but questions have been asked about his status due to being absent from the ring since All Out.
MJF Returning To AEW Soon
Fightful Select has now reported that MJF is expected back in AEW sooner rather than later. No specific date has yet been announced for the former AEW World Champion to make his return. However, it was noted that MJF is factored into AEW’s plans by December. Whether he’ll be back on-screen for those plans to play out remains to be seen.
AEW Full Gear takes place on November 22nd, which might be too soon for a surprise return. It was at the 2022 edition of that event that The Salt of the Earth captured the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley. At 2023’s Full Gear, he successfully defended that title against Jay White and in 2024, he defeated Roderick Strong in a singles match, continuing his undefeated run at AEW’s November spectacular.
