MJF Wants No Part Of Huge AEW Rematch

MJF

MJF isn’t rushing to secure an AEW rematch.

On the 250th episode of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay put his International Title on the line against MJF in the opening match of the night.

The momentum swung back and forth in a match worthy of any pay-per-view in the world, with each man going to extreme lengths to secure victory. In the end, MJF pinned Ospreay after 59 minutes and 58 seconds after hitting his rival with the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

The match was immediately praised by fans, and speculation began running wild about a potential rematch. However, in the words of Apollo Creed (kind of), MJF told The Wrestling Classic that “there ain’t gonna be no rematch.”

“Why would I wrestle a guy I beat so handily? I literally beat him in record time. I mean, yeah, if somebody tries to pitch that to me, there’s no reality that match is happening again. I beat him, I now have this title. I’m gonna make this title mean more than any title that exists in all of professional wrestling.”

MJF Claims Will Ospreay Lacks Crucial Attribute

The new International Champion went on to claim that Ospreay is “wrestling to impress” — a trap he fell into earlier in his career. In addition, he claimed the British star lacks “killer instinct” and that’s why he lost.

“I keep trying to warn Will, probably because he’s foreign and stupid and from the worst country that’s ever existed, the United Kingdom, but yeah, Will’s falling in the same trap I fell into. He’s wrestling to impress, he’s not wrestling to win, and I’ll never wrestle like that ever again.

The way I wrestle now is very defense-based. I’m looking for reversals. I’m looking to cut corners. I’m not looking for the hard way. I’m looking for the easy way out. I don’t give a f*ck. I’ll say that proudly with a smile on my face. I have that killer instinct.

That’s something that Will Ospreay lacks, and that’s why he lost against me, and I dominated him. People are saying it was the most dominating victory of all time. I didn’t even sweat. It was the easiest match probably of my entire life.”

MJF is set to address fans on the July 24th edition of Dynamite. Elsewhere, The Elite will meet Team AEW inside Blood & Guts.

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that MJF will defend the International Title against Templario in CMLL at an event at Arena Mexico on August 2nd.
