MJF Upsets Many With Bizarre Shot At Jeff Jarrett & AEW
MJF and Jeff Jarrett resumed hostilities on Dynamite Maximum Carnage but it seems the former AEW World Champion has upset many others as well.
MJF had previously tried to talk Jeff Jarrett into teaming up to get Jarrett through the Casino Gauntlet and then win the AEW World Title on the provision that MJF would then get the first shot at the gold. But The Last Outlaw didn’t want to play ball.
Now on Dynamite Maximum Carnage, the two stars have come up against each other again as the two men traded increasingly personal insults for 14 straight minutes. However, one line from MJF stood out for all the wrong reasons as he told Double J:
Jeff Jarrett is the last thing you see before your favourite wrestling company dies.
MJF won't let Jeff Jarrett get away with his "disrespect"!

While MJF might have been alluding to Jarrett’s past in the USWA, WCW, TNA, and even Global Force Wrestling, the line raised eyebrows given that Jeff Jarrett is now in AEW.
MJF Puts Unwanted Spotlight On AEW
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that there was a significant reaction to the line and it seemed to bother a lot of people as it fed into a current narrative about AEW’s future not being on a steady footing:
I heard from many people tonight about that line. I don’t know if that line should have been okayed. In the context it was in it didn’t bother me but it bothered enough people to where I know it probably wasn’t the greatest idea. It wasn’t like ‘AEW sucks’ or ‘I wanna leave AEW to go to WWE’ especially this week boy would that be a terrible thing to put on your own TV.
I think the idea is that there is no danger of AEW going out of business, maybe never but at least for the next three years. I suppose if they collapse there’s a chance, probably not but there’s always a chance. But there’s that narrative out there that [AEW] is at death’s door and they’re swirling and all that.
The last thing I would want to do on my TV under any circumstances is do anything to reinforce that there might be a sliver of truth to that thing that doesn’t have a sliver of truth. It wasn’t necessary, the line wasn’t needed.
An old face from MJF’s past also returned at the show as former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe made his shock comeback to help HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata survive The Patriarchy.
