MJF To Star In First Feature Film
Hollywood has come calling for AEW star MJF with the news breaking that the star is set to be part of ‘The Iron Claw’ movie about The Von Erich family.
The Von Erich family are the stuff of wrestling royalty, but their rise to wrestling superstardom has been fraught with tragedy. Following the sudden passing of David Von Erich at the young age of 25, his brothers Mike, Kerry, and Chris all ended up taking their own lives. Family patriarch and World Class Championship Wrestling promoter Fritz Von Erich passed away from brain and lung cancer at the age of 68.
Back in June, Deadline reported that Zac Efron would be starring in an A24 film chronicling the life of the Von Erich family. It was later revealed that he would be playing the role of Kevin Von Erich, who is one of the last surviving members of the wrestling dynasty and was on hand for the family’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.
Now Zac Efron apparently has a co-star that thinks he’s better than the Hollywood star…and he knows it, with the news that MJF is also set to feature in the picture.
Deadline has reported that MJF is set to join the cast of The Iron Claw in what will be his first appearance in a feature film. PWInsider has reported that The Salt of the Earth will play Lance Von Erich and that is why he was written off AEW television in the run-up to Full Gear.
Lance Von Erich was brought into World Class Championship Wrestling to help the Von Erich family in their feud with The Fabulous Freebirds. He did not last very long in the company as fans saw through the fact that he was not a relation to the Von Erich dynasty.
