MJF Gets Tag Team Partner For AEW Full Gear Title Match
MJF is set for a big night at AEW Full Gear as he puts both his championships on the line against Bullet Club Gold.
The Full Gear main event sees MJF defend his AEW World Championship against Jay White but he’ll already have competed by the time that match comes around.
MJF and Adam Cole are the reigning ROH Tag Team Champions and with Cole out of action due to injury, the gold has been left in The Salt of the Earth’s hands. The Gunns challenged MJF for the title on the Full Gear Zero Hour pre-show and while the champion was happy to try and go it alone, Bullet Club Gold has made that a tricky proposition in recent weeks.
Using four-on-one assaults, Jay White’s group has tried to weaken MJF and taken advantage of the fact that he’s not well-liked by other AEW stars. The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn were taken out by Bullet Club Gold after teaming with him but he had been offered help from an unlikely source.
Samoa Joe has made his services available to MJF if he needed a tag team partner he could count on for Full Gear. However, Joe named his price for such assistance, noting that he’d demand another shot at the AEW World Championship in exchange for his help.
MJF Has No Choice But Say Yes To Samoa Joe
On AEW Rampage, Samoa Joe played his final hand in his quest to get a title shot as he helped MJF fend off an attack from Bullet Club Gold before extending his hand to the AEW World Champion. MJF shook it, indicating that Joe will join him at Full Gear but should he defeat Jay White, Joe is coming for the AEW Title.
It's official!@SamoaJoe will now team up with #AEW World Champion @The_MJF to defend the @RingOfHonor World Tag Team Titles against #TheGunns@coltengunn & @theaustingunn at #AEWFullGear ZERO HOUR LIVE tomorrow at 6:30pm ET/3:30pm PT!
