MJF Addresses If There Really Was A Bidding War Of 2024
MJF decided to respond to a fan’s comment on social media regarding the “Bidding War of 2024” comment he used to mention on AEW television.
As the youngest and longest-reigning World Champion in AEW history, Maxwell Jacob Friedman aka MJF is known for running his mouth a lot.
For several years while doing promos on AEW television, MJF was known for talking about the “Bidding War of 2024.” It was a reference to the fact that at one point in his career, Friedman’s AEW contract was going to expire on January 1st, 2024, which would mean he could become a free agent.
While it’s not known when MJF likely signed a contract extension with AEW, it is believed that he committed long-term to the company before he became a free agent. That means there was likely no true “Bidding War of 2024” that Max mentioned repeatedly because he chose to stay with AEW when they made him a great offer. When Friedman returned to television earlier this year, he also revealed an AEW tattoo on his leg.
On Twitter/X, MJF responded to a fan’s comment about the bidding war statement that Friedman used to say. In the response, Friedman made it clear he signed a multi-million dollar contract to remain with All Elite Wrestling
It’s almost like MJF quietly signed a multi million dollar contract and AEW won or something?!?!? Wild stuff.
Also sorry original post got deleted. Think my finger slipped in between takes for the movie I’m shooting. Blow me.

MJF Taking A Break From AEW Television
The last match that Maxwell Jacob Friedman had in AEW was at Chicago’s All Out PPV when he defeated his rival Daniel Garcia in a close matchup.
After the match, MJF went to raise Garcia’s hand while attempting a low blow, but Garcia blocked it. Garcia then hit MJF with an Avalanche Piledriver to stand tall.
That piledriver from Garcia was a way to take MJF off television while he films a movie, which he mentioned in the social media post above.
