MJF Heading Outside AEW With Shock Title Challenge

MJF

MJF has made a shock title challenge as he looks set to compete outside of AEW and send a message to Will Ospreay.

The 250th edition of AEW Dynamite kicked off with a match worthy of a pay-per-view main event as Will Ospreay put his AEW International Championship on the line against MJF. While many expected that match to take place at All In, it seems Tony Khan has a plan for his current AEW booking that saw Dynamite stacked with huge matches.

As the one-hour time limit neared its end which would have meant a draw and Will Ospreay retaining his title but following the referee being taken out, MJF used his Dynamite Diamond ring to clock the champion and pick up the pinfall victory with just two seconds left on the clock to become the new AEW International Champion – but that title wouldn’t last long.

Now on Dynamite Blood & Guts, MJF was in a celebratory mood after his big win and had a surprise for everyone in attendance. The Salt of the Earth revealed he was the “American Champion” rather than the International Champion as he binned that belt and revealed a new title belt befitting of the name as it was decked out in red, white, and blue.

MJF Facing Another English Star Before Will Ospreay

The celebratory mood was soon cut short as Will Ospreay arrived through the crowd as MJF ran off. Ospreay revealed he already had his rematch made for the title and he will clash again with the former AEW World Champion in Wembley Stadium at All In. But MJF now has another title shot before then to deal with and it won’t take place in an AEW ring.

Revolution Pro Wrestling released a video featuring MJF as he laid down a challenge to Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Michael Oku for a match for the AEW American Championship on August 11th.
