Why MJF Isn’t Satisfied By His AEW Accomplishments

MJF

MJF signed with AEW on January 7, 2019, just before its launch, following his appearance at the All In event in 2018.

He has accomplished many things in AEW, like winning the AEW World Championship and AEW International Championship once each.

He was the winner of the 2022 Casino Ladder match, the Casino Gauntlet match in 2025, and won the Dynamite Diamond Ring five times (2019-2024) and more.

Despite having so many achievements in Tony Khan’s promotion, he still feels something is missing.

MJF Wants To Become The GOAT

Speaking in an interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, MJF revealed that he is not satisfied with his AEW accomplishments.

He knows that he is one of the best stars in the company, but that’s not enough. He wants to become the GOAT and go down in the history books as a generational talent.

Now, when people think about professional wrestling in 2025, the names that come up, am I one of them? Yeah, no fucking shit.

But that’s not enough for me. I need to go down as the greatest of all time. I need to go down as a generational talent, as a guy who led my generation for years to come.

AEW had me in my 20s. They’re about to have me in my 30s. Have I accomplished more than anybody has in that period of time? Probably.

But I’m not satiated. That was my biggest thing that I realized after the Mark Briscoe match. I just was not satiated. It’s not okay to just have a good outing. I need to win.

MJF currently holds no title in AEW. But he will get a title shot at the AEW World Title at Worlds End, on December 27th at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He will face Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and “Hangman” Adam Page in a Four-way match for the AEW World Championship.
