MJF Injured At AEW Full Gear

MJF

MJF was forced into double duty at Full Gear as he put both his ROH Tag Team and AEW World Championships on the line.

MJF took Samoa Joe up on his offer to team with him in Adam Cole’s absence to defend the ROH Tag Team Title against The Gunns on the Zero Hour pre-show. Joe helped MJF retain that gold guaranteeing himself an AEW World Title shot in the future but left the champion at the mercy of The Gunns who attacked MJF after the match.

That sent The Salt of the Earth off in an ambulance with Adam Cole forced to step in and say he’d face Jay White in the main event to stop Switchblade simply being awarded the AEW World Title.

However, MJF returned before that match could begin and with his own apparent leg injury seriously hampering him, he managed to survive and retain his title with help from his trusty Dynamite Diamond ring. However, while the leg injury might well have been storyline, MJF’s condition after the bout was anything but.

MJF Has To Pop Hip Back In After AEW Full Gear

WrestlePurists reported that MJF was hurt during his match with Jay White and while he is not expected to miss TV time, his condition will be worrying to AEW boss Tony Khan:

According to sources, MJF hurt his hip during his match vs Jay White @ AEW Full Gear and had to have his hip popped back in after the show. He was also said to have banged up his shoulder. MJF is not expected to miss any TV time, but the current plan is for him to be featured in a non-wrestling capacity while healing up.

AEW’s next pay-per-view event is Worlds End on December 30 and while MJF would be expected to compete at that show, the build-up surrounding Worlds End will centre around the Continental Classic and the crowning of a Triple Crown Champion which could be enough for the AEW World Champion to miss that show depending on his condition.
