MJF Declares Himself A “Megastar”

MJF

AEW star MJF is a “megastar” as he compares his reactions to those of some of wrestling’s biggest icons such as The Rock and Hulk Hogan.

MJF has had a tumultuous 2022, to say the least. From the highs of his epic feud with CM Punk – which included a major win over the former WWE Champion – to being put on hiatus in the summer amid rumours that the star wanted to leave AEW.

MJF returned to television in September at All Out and since then, fans of the company have been a lot more receptive to The Salt of the Earth as he continues to generate some of the loudest reactions in the company.

Speaking in an interview with the New York Post, MJF declared himself a megastar and put himself on the same level as WWE icons such as The Rock, John Cena, and Hulk Hogan in terms of his reactions:

“Being anything other than myself, fully authentically, doesn’t interest me. I am who I am. People will react to me the way they want to react to me. That’s megastar sh*t. That’s John Cena sh*t. That’s Rock sh*t. That’s [Hulk] Hogan sh*t.”

“There were times in their career when they would come through that curtain and they got the loudest boo and there were times where they came through that curtain and they got the loudest cheer. That’s what I bring to the table. Think people need to stop worrying about fake bullsh*t labels and just enjoy this ride because I’m over as sh*t and it is fun.”

MJF will hope to cement his megastar status by capturing the AEW World Championship when he challenges Jon Moxley for the gold at Full Gear.
