MJF Dealing With Busy Schedule Working AEW Shows And Filming A Movie

MJF is a busy guy in the AEW ring and outside of it.

It is a busy time of year for the former AEW World Champion, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. This past Friday, September 5th, MJF married AEW backstage interviewer Alicia Atout in a wedding that was attended by many AEW people, including the boss, Tony Khan.

The next night, MJF flew to Philadelphia and appeared on Collision to continue his storyline with Mark Briscoe, which will lead to a match at AEW All Out.

There was a report earlier in the day that MJF has a role in the movie “Violent Night 2.” The film is set to be released on December 4, 2026, and filming has already begun. Deadline had more information about the film.

The 2022 bare-knuckle holiday sensation Violent Night followed an embittered Santa, armed with lethal combat skills, who takes out a team of ruthless mercenaries to rescue a girl and her family. Now, it’s time for not-so-jolly Saint Nick to suit up again.

Violent Night 2 is produced by 87North founders Kelly McCormick and David Leitch through their first-look deal with Universal Pictures. Universal’s Executive Vice President of Production Development Matt Reilly and Director of Development Tony Ducret will oversee the project for the Studio.

The movie is being filmed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

MJF Still Plans To Appear On AEW Shows While Filming Movie

It was reported by Fightful Select that MJF wasn’t on AEW Dynamite this week because he has been in Winnipeg filming Violent Night 2.

AEW fans will get to see MJF at the AEW Collision tapings on September 11th, which will air two days later. After that, MJF will go back to Winnipeg to resume filming Violent Night 2. Friedman will also fly to Mexico City to face Mistico at the CMLL Anniversary event on September 19th, with Max’s CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship on the line.

MJF is expected to face Mark Briscoe at AEW All Out on September 20th. After All Out in Toronto, MJF will be back in Winnipeg to film more of Violent Night 2 until the filming is done.
