MJF Makes It Clear Britt Baker Is Not A Pillar

MJF isn’t on the same page as others when it comes to Britt Baker’s importance to AEW.

Ever since AEW first formed there has been talk of “pillars”. Based on the success of the original Four Pillars of Heaven of wrestling, this term refers to a group of wrestlers, usually a quartet, that are destined to carry the company into the future.

In AEW, the four wrestlers most frequently considered “pillars” are MJF, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Jungle Boy. However, MJF’s status as a pillar has been called into question, particularly after CM Punk cut that famous promo insinuating that Britt Baker replaced MJF as a pillar.

Now, though, Maxwell Jacob Freidman is AEW World Champion and firmly entrenched in the company’s main-event scene. And it is from this position that he is rebuking the idea that Britt Baker is one of the pillars holding up AEW.

Speaking to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, MJF explained why he thinks this way.

“She’s definitely upset because she thinks she’s a pillar, because PG Punk said so. But the fact of the matter is she’s f**king not. Even if she was, what? Is she gonna wrestle me for the world title? I’m three times her size. I would beat the living f**king s**t out of her.”

That said, MJF did have some nice things to say about Britt Baker’s work…as a dentist. He also used his strong TV ratings numbers as justification for why he is a pillar and Baker is not.
