MJF Believes He Brings Power To The Table For AEW
MJF believes that the star power he has means a lot for AEW.
The AEW roster is full of wrestlers who have a history in WWE or other promotions and they also have plenty of people who have become big stars because of AEW.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is somebody who wasn’t known internationally when AEW launched in 2019, but ever since then, he has become one of the biggest stars in the company. MJF is also the youngest and longest-reigning AEW World Champion in company history.
Outside the ring, MJF has been cast in Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore 2” film which is a sequel to the popular comedy film from nearly 30 years ago. MJF plays one of Happy’s sons in the film, so it’s a big role for the AEW superstar.
Happy Gilmore 2 has a July 25th release date on Netflix and it will likely get a lot of attention because of how big the first Happy Gilmore movie was.
During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Max spoke about how his acting career will benefit AEW.
“Tony Khan — while he is a mark, he’s not a dumb mark. He’s obviously aware of the fact that the bigger I build my name, the more people who are going to Google search me and go, ‘MJF, AEW, what’s AEW? All Elite Wrestling? I used to watch wrestling as a kid. TBS, Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Alright, I’ll give it a shot.’ And that’s the power that I bring to the table.”
MJF Confronted By MVP On AEW Dynamite
At the AEW Revolution PPV in Los Angeles, MJF was in a huge grudge match against another AEW original, “Hangman” Adam Page. The two former AEW World Champions had a classic match that was back and forth throughout. Page managed to get the win, which made the fans happy since they are constantly against Friedman.
On AEW Dynamite in Fresno, Friedman was trying to explain what happened against Page when he was interrupted by MVP of The Hurt Syndicate. That led to an exchange that ended with MVP giving Friedman a Hurt Syndicate business card. Could it lead to MJF aligning with The Hurt Syndicate trio of Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & MVP? Keep watching AEW television to find out.
