MJF Breaks Silence On Britt Baker Showdown In AEW

MJF

MJF has given his side of the story of his recent altercation with Britt Baker in the AEW locker room and suggested that much of what was said to have happened between them simply didn’t.

Britt Baker was suspended by AEW for her part in a backstage incident with MJF. Reports suggested Baker had made a disparaging comment about MJF in the women’s locker room that made its way back to him courtesy of his girlfriend and AEW broadcaster Alicia Atout. MJF is said to have confronted Baker and at some point punched a wall in apparent frustration.

Eyebrows were raised that no punishment was dished out to MJF and now the AEW American Champion has given his side of the story.

MJF Rubbishes Britt Baker Story Claims

Speaking to Cultaholic, MJF discussed the incident and claimed that much of what had been written about it simply did not happen:

Tell me if this passes the smell test. I barge into a woman’s locker room. I scream in the face of a 110-pound woman, and then I physically threaten her by punching a wall in her vicinity…and I don’t get suspended. Does that pass the smell test to you? Almost everything that was written didn’t happen.

MJF then alluded to the fact that he and Baker do not get along but says he’s more than happy to put Baker’s in-ring talents over:

Everybody has co-workers at work they may not get along with. I have a feeling that this was blown out of proportion because all of the English wrestling commentary places that make money off of people like me, who are far more rich and talented and handsome and humble, need clickbait.

I can sit here and I can say wrestling is a very competitive sport. It breeds a level of insecurity like no other. However, I can easily put over any talent, regardless of whether or not I like them as a human being. I can sit here and I can tell you that Britt Baker vs. Mercedes Moné at Wembley on August 25th is going to be an epic match and we should all be excited to watch it. I don’t have to like all my coworkers and that’s fine. But yeah, dude, that sh*t was wild to read.

Much to his disgust, MJF was in England to defend his AEW American Championship against RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Michael Oku. The Salt of the Earth retained his gold but Will Ospreay stopped MJF from a sickening attack after the match.
