MJF Bins AEW Title; Reveals New Championship
MJF and Will Ospreay went to war for the AEW International Championship and now that title has a new name and a whole new look.
The 250th edition of AEW Dynamite kicked off with a match worthy of a pay-per-view main event as Will Ospreay put his AEW International Championship on the line against MJF. While many expected that match to take place at All In, it seems Tony Khan has a plan for his current AEW booking that saw Dynamite stacked with huge matches.
Ospreay and MJF tangled for close to an hour in an epic contest before the former AEW World Champion resorted to his tried and trusted tricks.
As the one-hour time limit neared its end which would have meant a draw and Will Ospreay retaining his title but following the referee being taken out, MJF used his Dynamite Diamond ring to clock the champion and pick up the pinfall victory with just two seconds left on the clock to become the new AEW International Champion.
MJF Bins AEW Title
Now on Dynamite Blood & Guts, MJF was in a celebratory mood after his big win and had a surprise for everyone in attendance. The Salt of the Earth revealed he was the “American Champion” rather than the International Champion as he binned that belt and revealed a new title belt befitting of the name as it was decked out in red, white, and blue.

The celebratory mood was soon cut short as Will Ospreay arrived through the crowd as MJF ran off. Ospreay revealed he already had his rematch made for the title and he will clash again with the former AEW World Champion in Wembley Stadium at All In.
