MJF Accepts AEW World Title Match Challenge At Full Gear
MJF will prove he’s a fighting champion by putting the AEW World Title on the line at Full Gear.
It was one year ago at AEW Full Gear 2022 when Maxwell Jacob Friedman became the youngest AEW World Champion in the history of the company. That was the night when Max used William Regal’s help to beat Jon Moxley leading to MJF’s first World Title reign in AEW.
Over that last year, MJF has beaten some of the biggest names in AEW. However, at this year’s Full Gear PPV, MJF will have a new challenger: Jay White.
The story between Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Jay White started on the September 27th edition of Dynamite when White interrupted an MJF promo to make a declaration that White was going to beat Friedman to become the new AEW World Champion.
Jay White and Bullet Club Gold deliver painful message to MJF on Dynamite
On this week’s AEW Dynamite from Stockton, Bullet Club Gold’s Juice Robinson and The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn) called out MJF because they believe he led a mystery attack on White one week earlier on Dynamite.
MJF responded by denying that he had anything to do with the attack on White. After MJF pandered to the crowd a bit, he went to the ring to go after Bullet Club Gold, but the trio left. That’s because it was all a setup for White to attack MJF from behind and hit him with the Bladerunner.
After the cheap attack, White did a promo where challenged MJF to an AEW World Title match at Full Gear on November 18th. MJF, since he’s a babyface champion, agreed to the match.
That MJF-Adam Cole match is the first match announced for the fifth edition of Full Gear.
