MJF Impressed Adam Sandler In Major Movie Role Audition

MJF

The acting skills of MJF impressed Adam Sandler so much that it led to a role in “Happy Gilmore 2.”

For the past six years, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has impressed AEW viewers due to his ability to talk on the microphone. MJF is great at getting under the skin of his rivals while doing whatever he can to upset the fans as well. Friedman has shown that he is very capable in the ring as well since he’s the youngest and longest-reigning champion in AEW history.

There have also been times when MJF has shown off his other skills like being a very good singer (with Chris Jericho). Friedman did plenty of acting when he was younger as well and it has paid off.

It was reported in late 2024 that MJF was cast in the “Happy Gilmore 2” film led by Adam Sandler, which is a sequel to the classic comedy film from nearly 30 years ago.

In an interview with Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated, Friedman spoke about how he landed a role in the movie.

“Adam Sandler himself saw my audition and he was apparently laughing like a hyena. Then he said, I want this guy to not audition for the other role I auditioned for originally. I’d like him to audition to be this role. I auditioned for that role and I got the role and it’s a big role in the movie. I’m very excited for the movie when it comes out.”

Happy Gilmore 2 has a July 25th release date on Netflix. It will likely do very well as soon as it comes out since the original film was very popular. That will likely mean big exposure for MJF and AEW as a company.

MJF Teased A Fiery Attack On AEW Dynamite

The rivalry between MJF and “Hangman” Adam Page escalated on AEW Dynamite in Sacramento when Max decided to tease putting Page on fire. After Max beat up Page, he referenced Page’s past when he burned down Swerve Strickland’s house and said fans love it when Page burns things down. That led to Max dousing Page with lighter fluid and nearly setting Page on fire, but AEW officials and security showed up to stop it from happening.

At AEW Revolution in Los Angeles on March 9th, Friedman will face Page in a matchup between two former AEW World Champions who are looking to get to the top once again.
