Missing AEW Star’s Return Teased As Huge Match Announced
Could a missing AEW star be set for a surprise comeback after a very special match was announced?
AEW is currently besieged by missing stars, with plenty of questions raised over their future with the company. Chris Jericho is widely believed to be heading back to WWE after his AEW deal expires at the end of 2025. Jericho poured fuel on that fire when he suggested he’d be back in the ring somewhere in 2026, but did not publicly commit his future to the company he helped create in 2019.
Britt Baker’s prolonged absence has caused as much confusion and frustration among fans. Tony Khan claimed he’d love Baker back in the fold, but it’s still unclear why the former AEW Women’s World Champion has not been seen in over a year.
MJF’s absence has been a lot shorter, but the star has not been present since losing a Tables ‘n’ Tacks match to Mark Briscoe at All Out. The former AEW Men’s World Champion went on to shoot another movie following that loss and is perhaps taking some time out to take his new bride on a delayed honeymoon.
But could The Salt of the Earth be on his way back to the ring?
MJF Returning For AEW Dynamite Diamond?
On the December 3rd edition of Dynamite, AEW announced the return of the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal. That match will take place on the special Holiday Bash edition of Dynamite/Collision, taking place on December 17th. The last two men will face off to win the Dynamite Diamond ring on the following week’s show.
The winner of the Dynamite Diamond ring will then challenge for the AEW World Championship on the Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite on January 14th.
Many people are already suggesting the match announcement could signal the return of MJF, as he has been the only man to hold the Dynamite Diamond ring since it was introduced into the company in 2019. If he’s not part of the action, then it will have a new winner for the very first time.
