Missing AEW Star Still Has No Mobility As Injury Worries Deepen

Tony Khan AEW

One missing AEW star expected to be back in action already, but their injury issues aren’t getting better.

The last time AEW fans saw Buddy Matthews in action was back in February at Grand Slam Australia when he challenged Kazuchika Okada for the Continental Championship.

It soon emerged that Matthews sustained an ankle injury before his match took place. The star appeared to suffer the injury during his entrance, but he wrestled the match as planned, although he was seen limping heavily once the action was over and was soon spotted wearing a walking boot.

And it seems, a return to the ring is not imminent for the Hound of Hell.

Buddy Matthews Struggling To Return To AEW Ring

Taking to Instagram Live, Buddy Matthews gave an update on his condition, and it’s not good news. Matthews noted that he still has no mobility in his ankle despite initially hoping to be back in the ring in April:

The ankle is not recovering as well as I thought it would be. There’s no mobility to it, if I can’t have mobility, I can’t move properly.

Once it hits three months without healing, it becomes chronic.

I thought I’d be back in the ring in April.

During his absence, the House of Black completely fell apart when Malakai Black made his return to WWE. Matthews, Brody King, and Julia Hart continued as a unit as the Hounds of Hell, but King and Hart had to carry on themselves in the Australians’ absence.
