Missing AEW Star Returning “Soon”

A popular AEW will hopefully soon be back in action.

Powerhouse Hobbs hasn’t wrestled since challenging Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on the 24th of April edition of Dynamite. It was during that match that Hobbs suffered a patellar tendon tear that has left him on the injured list ever since.

However, it seems there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.

It was reported ahead of the September 4th episode of Dynamite that Hobbs was backstage, although there were no details available about the visit.

Tony Khan Says Powerhouse Hobbs Is Closing On AEW Return

Off the back of Hobbs popping up backstage, Tony Khan was asked about his status during the pre-All Out media call by Chris Mueller of Bleacher Report.

The AEW boss said that while he hasn’t got an exact date for the star’s return, he’s hoping to have him back in the fold soon.

“Will Hobbs has been visiting the doctors. He was injured wrestling against Jon Moxley in April. It’s been several months of Hobbs being out. We’re hoping to get him back soon, but I think there is still some time he needs for the recovery. Powerhouse Hobbs is a huge part of AEW and has been a great champion.

We look forward to getting Will Hobbs back. I can’t say the exact date, but he’s somebody in our plans that we want to get going again soon. It’s been nice to see him backstage a couple of times lately. This wasn’t the first time we’ve seen him, which is a good thing that he keeps coming in for check ups and is making good progress,”

Meanwhile, AEW recently welcomed back Jamie Hayter after the former Women’s Champion spent more than 14 months out of action with a serious back injury.
