Mick Foley Thinks AEW Star Has “Limitless” Future
Mick Foley is a huge fan of one AEW star.
During his time with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Will Ospreay earned himself a reputation as arguably the most impressive in-ring performer in the world.
Fast forward to Full Gear 2023, and Ospreay officially signed with AEW before leaving again to finish up his commitments in Japan. But once back in the United States in early 2024, Ospreay wasted little time in proving that his lofty reputation was well earned.
During a new interview with Sporting Talk, WWE legend Mick Foley was asked about Ospreay, and he was quick to heap praise on the British star.
“I’m laughing because my daughter was on the Jericho cruise and she said Will is quite the character, which I didn’t know. But he’s phenomenal. I was so impressed since I saw him and Ricochet just doing some amazing stuff. So, yeah, his future is pretty much limitless at this point. Massive, huge potential for him.”
Will Ospreay is set to face Ricochet in a Steel Cage Match at Revolution on March 9.
Mick Foley Grateful For AEW
Speaking elsewhere, Mick Foley explained why he’s grateful for AEW, and why the company is so important to the wrestling industry. However, the veteran revealed that his appreciation has more to do with the competition enabling WWE stars to make more money than anything to do with the talent in AEW.
In 2024, Foley had been planning to get back in the ring, however, he was forced to drop the idea after suffering a concussion. Despite the setback, he continued to work on his health and has subsequently revealed he’s lost over 100lbs.
